Who would think a party at a construction site could be so much fun? All it takes is a spacious tent, some lively music, great food—and a reason to celebrate.
The official christening of St. James Square was not your ordinary groundbreaking. It was symbolic of the new Brunswick County—a region that has generated a lot buzz in terms of its impressive economic outlook. The September 28 tent party, held on-site, attracted over 120 of the area’s movers and shakers, including St. James Mayor Shelley Lesher and Brunswick County Commissioner David Sanifer The event heralded the news: we’ve been discovered, and St. James Square is helping to break new ground in the way Southport and Brunswick County is perceived to the business sector.
“We see St. James Square as the shape of things to come in one of the hottest growing regions of the nation,” says Debby Daigle, President and CEO of Coastal Commercial Real Estate, and a partner in the project. “Its presence promotes a positive economic image, and will serve as partner in service to both our business and residential communities.”
St. James Square is the first of it’s kind in Southport—and Brunswick County. It will be a state-of-the art office complex that provides in-demand facilities for business professionals. The first of two buildings on Highway 211 near the Southport/St. James town line is under construction, with completion slated for Spring 2007.
